The main account is set in mainland China. If it does not meet the requirements, only the mainland management fee will be deducted, and the accumulated arrears will continue. If the mainland meets the requirements again or the main account is set in another region, the previous arrears must be settled. After settling the arrears, you can call customer service or RM to request a refund of the management fee. The management fee is not deducted in real-time, but at a fixed time every day.
After the main account is set up in another region, mainland China will be considered as meeting the requirements and will no longer be charged a management fee. However, the previously accumulated arrears will still exist and need to be deducted by the system at once before contacting customer service or RM for a refund.
If the main account does not meet the requirements, the other regional accounts will no longer be charged a management fee.
Other regional accounts have the opportunity to confirm with your main account branch whether you meet the local requirements of the main account. If you do not meet the requirements, it will be considered as not meeting the requirements and will start to be charged (this applies to every region).
In mainland China, HSBC can still perform global transfers and other functions during the time period when it is not meeting the requirements or has arrears. Continuously not meeting the requirements or having arrears may result in the cancellation of the Premier Wealth Management status (not account closure).
To set up the main account, you need to contact the customer service hotline of the main account's local branch and any customer service hotline of another regional account, and inform the customer service representative of all your account numbers in different regions during the phone call for association.
